Assisi Tour

Thanks to the Assisi tours from Rome, Florence and the main cities of Central Italy, organized by the Tuscany Driver Luca Del Segato, it’s possible to visit Assisi in a day. Clients are warmly welcomed by the private drivers of the NCC company in luxury vehicles, sedans or limousines, or else, in case of groups, in comfortable vans and minivans. The length of the journey depends on the starting point, for example from Rome Fiumicino Airport the transfer to Assisi takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The first stop of the tour in the city of Saint Francis is Santa Maria degli Angeli where there is the monumental basilica that preserves the Porziuncola. In this tiny and very ancient church, many events of the seraphic saint’s life occurred, like his death (3rd October 1226). From the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli the tour carries on by car to go up toward the historical center of Assisi, perched on the slopes of mount Subasio. The heart of the Umbrian city is enclosed by beautiful medieval walls.

Getting in from Porta Nuova you get to the Basilica of Santa Chiara where the remains of the saint and other items belonged to her are preserved. In the Chapel of the Crucifix you can find the crucifix that spoke to Francis in the church of San Damiano. The Assisi tour continues with the visit to the main places of faith, to the Basilica of Saint Francis decorated with wonderful frescoes by Giotto, Cimabue, Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti. The daily tour ends with the return to the departure city or with a transfer to other desired locations.
